Surrounded by range lands with Steens Mountain on the horiaon, Burns is a small town in rural eastern Oregon. It has Old West roots, with museums, rock shops, and western art galleries along the small Main Street. Within an hour's drive, a number of natural attractions can be found.
The Malheur National Wildlife Refuge is a short distance south, popular with bird watchers. The volcanic features at Diamond Craters farther on down the road is a site to view as well.
Burns is located in southeast Oregon, along US 205, about two hours east of Bend.
